STORM RUNNER- HOME
WE DID IT!!!! 2500 OCEAN MILES TO THE AZORES AND BACK FOR MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY
In July we competed in the Azores and Back Yacht race to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. The boat was sailed single handed there and double handed back and.....it was a very long way! We raised £6100 for MDC so a big thank you for all who contributed to the effort, whether you gave money, helped ready the boat or just sat in pubs with us droning on and on about sailing! We've included a few pics of the trip on the website.

About The Azores and Back
The Azores and Back Yacht race was started in 1975 by the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club. It is for single of double handed entries and it takes about 7-10 days for most competitors to cover each leg– Storm Runner is likely to be hard pushed to make even the 10 days! The race is held every 4 years starting in June and in 2007 there will be 70 boats competing.
Miles and Storm Runner qualified for the “AZAB 2007” by competing in the Royal Cornwall’s Falmouth 500 in July 2006, a 500 mile single handed race around Ushant and Fastnet (in fact we tacked over 600 miles..and lost!).
Brian and I qualified for our return trip on a further 500 mile passage in February 2007- see the pictures on this website.
